House System

House System

House System

All the students placed under one of the four houses —

HOMI BHABHA -RED HOUSE(HOMI BHABHA HOUSE)

MEGHNAD SAHA -BLUE HOUSE(MEGHNAD SAHA HOUSE)

APJ ABDUL KALAM -YELLOW HOUSE(ABDUL KALAM HOUSE)

SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN -PURPLE HOUSE(SRINIVASA RAMANUJAN HOUSE)

This inculcates a spirit of healthy competition and leadership in them. Each house is headed by a student captain. A member of the staff, assisted by other teachers (House counsellors), acts as the House Warden. Points are awarded to students throughout the year for all co / extra-curricular activities, games and sports. At the end of the year, the two houses with the highest number of points are awarded rolling trophies. Inter-house competitions are organized in sports, dramatics, debates, quiz, art, music, dance and environment based themes.

The sole reason why we strongly advocate ‘House system’ is because it is a way of building up team spirit, ensuring students are supported by their peers along with healthy competition. “Ensuring students feel comfortable in their new surroundings and making them feel part of their new environment as quickly as possible.”

The House System would involve not only students but also staff for better interaction with teachers beyond the walls of classroom. The House System is first and foremost inclusive of all learning types and interests.

One of the main strengths of the House System is giving students of all ages the opportunity to work together, creating a truly cohesive environment. Age would no longer be barrier to honing their leadership qualities. It allows students to develop their sense of loyalty, self-existence and belongingness and help to remove the fear of ‘small fish big pond.’

Science is a way of discovering what's in the universe and how those things work today, how they worked in the past, and how they are likely to work in the future. Scientists are motivated by the thrill of seeing or figuring out something that no one has before. Science is useful. The knowledge generated by science is powerful and reliable.
